Kim von Behr Imrie (Graaff-Reinet Tourism) and Carla Smit (Nieu-Bethesda Tourism) attended the WTM Africa 2024 Expo held at the CTICC in Cape Town from 10-12 April. For both, it was a first-time attendance and they have come back convinced that attendance at Trade Shows is a vital networking exercise.
This was the 10th World Travel Market Africa Expo, with 88 countries represented and an increase of 53% more attendees this year compared to last. What Kim and Carla found most beneficial was the Speed Networking session where they could exchange business cards with numerous international buyers in the space of two hours.
